An old thread resurrected...
I think most Americans have thought kindly of Brits. Anglophilia has been common. Americans have admired the humor and dry wit, and the "stiff upper lip". Any kind of British accent, even Cockney seems to elevate a person a notch up in status. And Americans have often loved all the trappings of British royalty, even though they would never want to have royalty for themselves.

Some of these stereotypes are changing though. The rowdiness of some Brits at sporting events abroad, the emotional outpouring after Diana's death all point to a changing image of Brits here.

well i don't happen upon many but i like you brits...you can say literally anything and make it sound classy! i love listening to the accent
