the divide is mostly generational perspective to me

United more so than other countries in the grand scheme of things. Some states are more divided than others though cough cough Mississippi.

I'd say we're absolutely and profoundly politically divided, but the media likes to make it seem the racial tension is far, far worse than it actually is.

Racial tension is somewhat of an issue for some people. However I agree with you that we are profoundly politically divided. We are so divided politically that I believe it is a threat to the future of this nation. Red states, blue states and it all resembles the same old divisions on the map that go back to the 1860s. If we ever lose our prosperity we may lose our union. Even another civil war is not out of the question, the divisions really are profound.

America is the most united and uniform that any nation of this size, population and diversity could probably ever be.

The richest as well.

The racial history/origin of The United States is the reason that it will always feel divided.

Many need to travel a bit more and spend less time on the internet. Amazing how united we are in the real world and to many other country's!

I read the other day that according to surveys, people are now reluctant to date someone with opposing political beliefs. Historically that hasn't been the case at all.
