Seems that many believe LA is in the 60s/70s at night year round.

I hope a local can back me up.

Seattle and Portland would be hip alternatives, with cheaper rent, if one doesn't mind rain and clouds (although not the case in the summer, I hear).
I wear shorts and a t-shirt every day. L.A. basically has a climate like a desert: there are never any clouds in the sky so the days are always very warm but since there is no cloud cover at night nothing traps the heat so nights get very chilly. Also, I've been in L.A. since late August and there was a very odd 2 or 3 day downpour in September or October, but since then it hasn't rained once.

Either it's gonna be New York or LA. Which one would you choose?
I wrote some things about me so you can put yourself in my position!

3. My fav music is Blues, Jazz and Rock n Roll. I would love to have alot
of Blues clubs/bars around with live music. BB King etc.
4. Enjoy having a car, just to cruise..
5. I don't care about any beaches, though I like warm and nice weather!
6. I'm an open minded, liberal person that like to do whatever I want without anyone giving a **** about it..

If you have any other propositions of cities you think I would enjoy let me know!

And one more thing, im not überrich..my budget is like $1000/month for rent at maximum!
NYC has great jazz clubs with live music. But it isn't practical to own a car in NYC. For cruising in a car I would pick L.A.
As for warm weather, NYC has very cold weather during the winter and normally very hot summers. L.A. has a much milder winter with hot summers. So L.A. is better weatherwise.
I think for a liberal minded person NYC is just as good as L.A.
For $1000 a month in NYC you can rent a studio apt. in some good neighborhoods in Queens, but unlikely in Manhattan.
