Yes. The quotes in the OP are from that thread.
That poll overlooks the fact that green has varying degree of lightness and mixture with other colors. The same goes for blue and brown to a certain extent.
Ben Around has dark blue eyes for instance.

Where did I classify all brown eyes as light?

Such a map comparable to ancestry map would be interesting for North America. Do you think it'd be possible to create one?

There's all sorts of threads about "Which cities/areas/states/regions have the most Asians/Blacks/Latinos/Whites/Mixed?". See this as a variant of those.

I think race or ethnicity has a potential cultural element. There isn't really a "culture of light-colored eyes." I think that's why this maybe seems more odd.

Although if it's a bit of a mocking of how racial some questions get, good one! Truth is ethnicity is probably more culturally relevant than race. Being of race may correlate to culture, but race isn't culture. Ethnicity I think can be, in that there are ethnic cultures, but possibly race is asked about more than ethnicity. Not sure.

You're right. Frankly I didn't have any intention of making fun of the race questions. But you made a good point that "race" in America has much more of a cultural or ethnic element in it, which is why Latino and Asian are considered "races".

Anyway, if you google for "light eyes map", you'll come up with a couple of samples.
