I sort of made a measure of good weather and bad weather. Using weather averages by month, I recorded how many months fall between 80F-50F (good), and 40> or 89< (bad). These cities fared the best:
Monthly Averages of 80F-50F
San Francisco - 8
Los Angeles - 7
San Diego - 7
Oakland - 6
Tampa - 5
Miami - 4
New Orleans - 4
Orlando - 4
Seattle - 4
Toronto - 4
Vancouver - 4
Miami would be my vote. Where else on the USA mainland can you stay in shorts and flip-flops year round…jump in 80 ocean water in December…and never need any type of socks –lol.
Seattle is cold, cloudy and depressing, San Diego is too cold in the winter, summers are too cool, the ocean is freeeeezing, NYC/DC too cold in winter (summers are hot/humid which I like)…and forget the interior of the USA (not on the coast). Miami = Coconut Palms, sunshine, and my own boat for day trips to the Bahamas. Now all I need is to win lotto!
San Diego summer too cool??? It's like 80F in summer, sometimes a bit hotter! I can understand if you think the nights of 65F in summer are too cool, though...Winter here, I wouldn't say cold, but dreary and VERY mild. And Miami water in winter is NOT 80F! More like 70F... I think you're exaggerating a bit. But I voted for Miami as well, mostly for the semi-tropical growth and summer rainstorms.
Miami for me. I like a bit of humidity and general warmth. The summer storms are beautiful and incredible, the dry winter weather is fantastic and the city and beaches itself are so pretty. Things I hate about that are the brutally hot and overwhelmingly humid days, or occasionally very cold days in wintertime, as well as dangerous tropical storms/hurricanes. But pretty and I choose there, if I can't choose Hawaii (perfect climate). San Diego is a second to Miami, but the winter/spring are just too cool and foggy for my tastes. Summer and fall in SD is paradise.
I find it interesting (and sterotypical) that the only place you call "wet" is Seattle. Yet on the annual rainfall list, it's 8th out of your 12 cities.
I'd say Minneapolis. The winter is a bit too cold even for me, but I prefer a snowy winter to a snowless one and the summer is not too hot. Seattle is close though, it's just not snowy enough for me and it's a bit repetitive with all the rain and mild temperatures.
