Hello everyone.

I'm from Europe and the next year I will study in the United States. I have 18 universities for choosing.

I have consulted each university and I know the subjects and potential.
The problem is that I don't know much about the states.

I would like to know where I cand find more parties, fun, safety, girls... So I wish you tell me which ones you would choose or which ones you would never choose and why.

The universities are:

- Florida State University -> Tallahassee (Florida)
- Arkansas State University -> Jonesboro (Arkansas)
- Delta State University -> Cleveland (Mississippi)
- Eastern Kentucky University -> Richmond (Kentucky)
- Missouri University of Science & Technology -> Rolla (Missouri)
- Missouri State University -> Springfield (Missouri)
- Morehead State University -> Morehead (Kentucky)
- Northwest Missouri State University -> Maryville (Missouri)
- Southeast Missouri State University -> Cape Girarcleau (Missouri)
- Tennessee Technological University -> Cookeville (Tennessee)
- University of North Alabama -> Florence (Alabama)
- University of North Carolina Pembroke -> Pembroke (North Carolina)
- University of Wisconsin River Falls -> River Falls (Wisconsin)
- Washburn University -> Topeka (Kansas)
- Montana State University -> Bozeman (Montana)
- Oklahoma State University -> Stillwater (Oklahoma)
- Tartelon State University -> Stephenville (Texas)
- University of Oklahoma -> Norman (Oklahoma)

Thank you.

Florida State University -> Tallahassee (Florida)
A good party school, decent academic reputation, unsafe campus

Arkansas State University -> Jonesboro (Arkansas)
not good for international student

Delta State University -> Cleveland (Mississippi)
not good for international student

Eastern Kentucky University -> Richmond (Kentucky)
not good for international student

Missouri University of Science & Technology -> Rolla (Missouri)
not good for international student

Missouri State University -> Springfield (Missouri)
decent school, probably a good party scene, safe campus

Morehead State University -> Morehead (Kentucky)
not good for international student

Northwest Missouri State University -> Maryville (Missouri)
decent school, unsure of party scene, safe campus

Southeast Missouri State University -> Cape Girarcleau (Missouri)
not good for international student

Tennessee Technological University -> Cookeville (Tennessee)
not good for international student

University of North Alabama -> Florence (Alabama)
not good for international student

University of North Carolina – Pembroke -> Pembroke (North Carolina)
more of a commuter school with little party scene

University of Wisconsin – River Falls -> River Falls (Wisconsin)
not good for international student

Washburn University -> Topeka (Kansas)
not good for international student

Montana State University -> Bozeman (Montana)
good school, great town, great party scene, safe campus

Oklahoma State University -> Stillwater (Oklahoma)
good school, small college town, good party school, safe campus

Tartelon State University -> Stephenville (Texas)
not good for international student

University of Oklahoma -> Norman (Oklahoma)
good school, larger college town near a big city, party school, safe campus

*Those I labeled not good for international students referred to the fact these schools draw a more regional student base (within a few hundred miles)
and tend to be less sophisticated as some of your other options.

I'd rank your Top 5 choices as follows:

1. Montana State University
2. University of Oklahoma
3. Florida State University
4. Missouri State University
5. Oklahoma State University

Good luck!

My opinion:
Montana State would be very remote if you wanted to see the rest of America.

Florida State is probably the best pick based on your criteria.
Then Oklahoma as #2. The airport in Oklahoma City is not major, but it is a larger regional airport and you can get to and from it fairly easily. Plus you are within a few hours driving distance from other large cities (Kansas City, Tulsa, Dallas/Ft Worth, even Austin) if you wanted to "explore" the US.
I don't know much about Missouri State but I think Springfield is a great medium-sized to large town. You wouldn't get a big-city urban American experience there, but it would probably be a good way to experience "mainstream" American culture in a medium Midwest city.

Oklahoma State would not quite have the appeal to an international student as the University of Oklahoma. It's located in a much smaller town and has more of a redneck reputation (whether fair or not).

You are guaranteed to party your balls off if you go to Florida State University haha. Just be prepared to lose to Clemson in football every year

Your first time in the US and you want fun, so why did you list small towns in the south? Go up north to Philly, NY, Boston, or somewhere in Cali.

Well not exactly a list of schools I was expecting but you will get a good American experience at many of them.
For your criteria go to Florida State! This is the only school I know anything about on that list but that is for a reason. I am from Florida too but FSU is known around the country for good parties, good sports, decent weather, good looking girls and decent academics. Northern Florida is not Miami it is very southern so be ready for the real America South. Also it is a decent location travel to Miami is a short flight or long drive, Orlando is a short drive. Beaches are close by maybe 45mins or less.

I can't believe nobody said San Diego State University, or University of California Santa Barbara. Both have high reputations for party schools but the safer bet would be UCSB, considering SDSU is always in trouble with DEA haha. UCSB has a beautiful campus that overlooks the ocean.

I think the poster is looking for fun college towns that have great party schools. With the exception of a small handful of schools, most of the best party schools are usually in midsize cities and college towns. He'd have a blast at one of these party schools, and then could always move to one of the great big cities after college anyways.

With that said, I'm not that familiar with many of the schools on your list, but here are some suggestions for great party schools that have tons of hot girls and are in a safe place, but academically house some of the very best programs in the nation:

University of Texas-Austin
University of Wisconsin-Madison
University of Maryland
University of Florida
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
University of California-Los Angeles

If you don't have the academic qualifications for these schools, I would say these schools are more well known party schools than the ones you listed.

Arizona State University
Ohio State University
UC-Santa Barbara
University of Georgia
University of Alabama
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
Iowa State University
Southern Illinois University
Ole Miss
Louisiana State University
Texas A&M
