-Pittsford, NY (Rochester)
-Orchard Park, NY (Buffalo)
-Wayzata, MN (Minneapolis)
-Minnetonka, MN (Minneapolis)
-Solon, OH (Cleveland)

I know I said I would prefer cities with less traffic, but I have found some great suburbs like Southlake and Cherry Hills Village that I do not really want to rule out. I have almost ruled out Solon and Minnetonka. Right now it is between Orchard Park, Pittsford, Southlake, and Cherry Hills Village. My main concern is a school district with excellent athletics. All four of these towns seem to have many championship teams. I want my kids to be involved in sports.
Trust me, if you want your child to play for a good Lacrosse program, then West Genesee in Camillus sets the standard for HS Lacrosse in this country and is a good school district with some upscale areas, along with low traffic. When a school has 15 state championships in that sport in the best lacrosse state in the US, that is saying something. This is there coach: Mike Messere

and more on the program: W. Genesee's Messere wins 700th : Sports : WSTM NBC3

Home of West Genesee Wildcat High School Lacrosse

This school has recently won a Football State championship and has good Baseball and Basketball teams for the most part. Girls lacrosse is also big there and has won 11 state titles. West Genesee Lady Wildcat Lacrosse

West Genesee also has a very good Hockey program.

Also, keep in mind that you want a city with blue collar workers and the Syracuse area has that for sure.

Also, if you want a school with an overall good sports program, Jamesville-DeWitt would work. They won a state title in Lacrosse recently, won back to back state titles in Basketball and have 4 guys right now playing Division 1 Basketball right now, with a couple more on the way to playing D1 Basketball. Christian Brothers Academy would be another good choice, especially for Football, Basketball, Baseball and Lacrosse. When they won the state title for Football in 2004, they had 3 guys go D1 in Football, 3 others play D1AA Football and the QB went on to play point guard at Duke. Their Basketball team was in the state Final Four and it is a school with a ton of tradition going back to 1900.

Fayetteville-Manlius has been ranked #1 in cross country the last two years as well.

Westhill High is also another school with a very good total sports program.

Also, Syracuse has a noticeable Russian community, Jewish and non-Jewish. Most live in the Jamesville-DeWitt School District and some in the Fayetteville-Manlius SD. There's also a decent sized Ukrainian community on the city's West Side and into the Western suburbs, especially Solvay and including West Genesee.

This would be an example of what you can find in the Fayetteville-Manlius school district: Welcome to Mallards Landing
