Here in McAllen, TX. Water, sewer, trash are together for about $40/month. With washer. Since I currently rent, the apartment pays for water, but I've heard about 40 is average.
I pay $60/mo and that includes up to 600 gallons of water. If you use more than that, there's an additional charge per gallon. I think you'd have to be pretty wasteful to use 600 gallons of water in a month.

That's strange how people are billed for their sewers and garbage pick up. We don't get billed for that on Long Island. I'm guessing it's part of our property tax.
That it is, Rachael84, it is part of your General Tax Bill.
Well I've tallied it up so far, and I am sorry to say that Naples, FL is by FAR the winner in the "who pays the most" category. NJ appears to be the winner in the "who pays the least category". Here are the stats thus far:
NY - 87
NJ - 60
PA - 1,200 (Central PA)
PA - 220 (Pittsburgh)
NC - 420
AL - 696
FL - 1,500 (Naples)
NV - 144
TX - 480
IL - 225
IN - 703
ID - 720
CO - 360
OR - 672
The two shockers for me were Naples, FL (I guess the price of living in such a beautiful place?) and NV (I mean - it's a desert out there, no?).
It would be interesting to get all the states and really see nationwide.

I toured the Hoover Dam, and they said that Nevada doesn't have a big water supply, but at the same time, it's pretty cheap considering it's a desert. You would think Nevada would be expensive and Florida cheap.
And also in the town where I live which is a small town in southern michigan about 2 hours from chicago, u will get a bill for at least 65 dollars even if your not living in the house and using the water or sewer system. My friend bought a house and left it sitting empty for about a year and she said she got a bill every two months for 65 dollars, so she called the city and said I havent even turn the water on in there in months and im getting a bill for 65 why? They said u get that much billed basicly just cuz the water is available and turned on to that residence. Crazy! And no i have no idea why she didnt just have the water turned off until she was ready to remodel or move in. LOL
Our cheap water here may come to an end if a highly contested, controversial 300 mile water pipeline is built up to Northern Nevada. Very expensive project.
Other alternative: a desalination plant off the coast of California. The water from Lake Mead is shared by AZ, CA, NV. Build the plant, then CA will use less of their allocation, leaving more for Las Vegas.
Either choice, we'll pay for it.
