Does anyone have any insight to some of the shorter waiting list times to apply for a Section 8 housing voucher? This is for my mom who is a senior and disabled. She will apply anywhere in the USA and then take the voucher and relocate if necessary.

I am trying to avoid making a thousand phone calls to each county in the USA to find out who has a relatively short wait list. I found one that is 18 to 24 months wait, but would like to see if there is one shorter than that. Any tips on this is greatly appreciated!

If you know someone with rental property who will accept Section 8 and they happen to know someone important at HUD they can get you in a place immediately. Real estate outfits that manage Section 8 properties might have such a connection.

Default Please give me the advice

my uncle is disabled and lost his section 8 apartment in July 2009, because of being in the nursing home for a few month so all the rent money were taken by a nursing home.
He is staying in a shelter in a room and waiting to get another apartment since July 2009.
If you know any way the process can be faster please let me know.

thank you
