Even though I have never lived in Seattle or Portland, I have been to both cities 4 or 5 times. For what it's worth, I find Portland to be more appealing. Portland is nicer from a visual standpoint, a nicer downtown and the people there seem friendlier. The cost of living in Seattle seems to be outreagous for what you get!!
