I'm interested in finding out how much nurses make across the country. So if you don't mind sharing...
1) where do you live?
2) what is the average pay for RN's in your area?
My cousin is an RN and she makes $65,000 in rural MS. This is excellent considering the cost of living is low. For example, a 2,500 sq. ft. 4/2.5 home sells for about $95,000. Since the town is small (@ 15,000 residents), she only has to drive 5 miles to work which saves on gas and car wear and tear. Memphis, TN is only 70 miles away which makes it great for shopping. She has done quiet well for herself.
My sister-in-law is an RN in a larger southern city and makes $80,000.
I live in a Coastal California town. I work in a clinic and I make $36 an hour. Nurses in our area do not get paid well in comparison to the cost of living. In the Bay area, nurses probably make closer to $50.
