LOL, you are right. I used to live there. One of the most redundant places in the world is where Iowa Avenue crosses the Iowa River on the campus of the University of Iowa, in Iowa City, Iowa. And guess what county Iowa City is in! Uh, no, it's in Johnson County. Iowa County is immediately adjacent to the west!

Iowa City...you can do a lot worse, like naming a city Kansas City when its really in Missouri

Oh yeah and Sugar Land, Texas. One of my favorite bands named itself Sugarland from the city name because the lead singer Jennifer Nettles thought it sounded really nice. The Sugarland band is really from Atlanta and is now based out of Nashville I believe.

I like to say: Ann Arbor (2x), Charlotte, Cleveland, Lansing, Madison, Milwaukee, Peoria, Seattle...

I hate saying: Urbana (2x), Champaign, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, Indianapolis, Minneapolis,
Terre Haute (ugh!), Washington DC (long enough for ya?), Youngstown (tripleplusugh)

Indifferent: Davenport, St Louis, Toledo

I'm moving from Champaign over to Urbana in August. "Champaign" has the same "Ch" sounds as "Chicago," but "Ur-baa-nah" sounds awful, and its namesake is from Ohio. It doesn't get any worse. Yes, the new abode will be very nice, that is why I am making the switch.

I love saying "Ann Arbor." Other people get sick and tired of it.

You didn't ask state names, but I love saying "Kentucky."
Well, just the "tucky" part. Pennsyltucky, Columbustucky, Kentucky-tucky. If it quacks like the South, it's a tucky ducky!

I'm not going to waste tiem on suburban city names. Wouldn't it be great to go to Hell, Michigan? (It's near Ann Arbor and has great driving roads. )
