Ye, I feel ya on that...it's easy to loose 'spirit' in this world, if your not careful...that's why laughter was probably given to us for a reason...

I miss these older types of cartoons...they did incredibly well back then, without the aid of any computers...

And the waltz music that usally accompanied the short....

Actually I come here to your thread to 'relax'....I don't have to convince you of anything...and as such it allows me to relax a bit...

I've called a couple contact numbers for the Artspace project. Waiting to hear back.

I'm drawn to the idea of living around so much creativity, but I'm also drawn to living in seclusion, surrounded only by nature. Conflicting. It would be nice to experience one, then the other to discover more about both.

My pivotal words for the next 10 years I think will be "experience" and "discover". Instead of making a decision based on "SHOULD I do it", I'm going to ask myself "do I want to EXPERIENCE it".

There's too many "should"s going on and I can't "hear" my soul feel. lol.
Well put! When I hear people say things like this I realize that they've figured out what makes them tick, and I think you're in a good place if you know what you want that makes you happy.

Good luck!

Kansas City's Xroads also had a place like this called 'Arts Incubator' where artists can cheaply rent a section and mingle with others, but the building was deemed unsafe and shut down. They've moved to another building - I think it's now called 'Cacoon' - not sure if up an running yet.

KC's Xroads district is a 'communal' type concentrated arts district with about 60-80 spaces depending on what you call an art space - apparently one of largest in country. Is somewhat similar to Williamsburgh in Brooklyn. There is a communal vibe conducive to networking within different art circles, including ties to the coasts. Some of the galleries are 'live/work' spaces, and the West Bottoms (W side of downtown KC) is starting to grow with live/work spaces.

I was unclear. So far from what I read, it IS below market rate, but it was hard to find listings of actual prices. I haven't heard back yet from the numbers I called.

Someone said something like.... "the hardest thing to accomplish is knowing oneself". Now I'm realizing how true it is, and how important it is too. Thanks for the good luck wish.

Why do Americans love ghettos so much?

By the way, does anybody know of any communities for 6'1" , brown-haired men with a City Data account?

To give you an idea the range, here's a quirky inner city kids arts project out of KC's Xroads on cable access... "Whoop Dee Doo"... kind of HR PuffnStuff meets Romper Room meets Drag Queens. Local kids basically mingle with Xroads artists/performers.

Whoop Dee Doo All Episodes!!!

There are various sides to Xroads. This is just one of many subcultures.

Here's a contemporary performance group out of Xroads that involves dancing with projected images, among other performance art - all music and aspects of production are locally produced. Quixotic Fusion will be performing for TEDx in Long Beach next month...

Every year, some think Xroads would peak that year and eventually putter out, yet every year it just keeps growing with various art forms, including stage theatre too. First Friday's monthly street party in Xroads is still kicking strong after 10+ years. Crossing fingers Xroads doesn't turn into what happened to Austin or Seattle.

Pics of First Friday's in KC's Xroads...

Well I for one continue to live this scrape by by yourself type of lifestyle...and it continues to be bland to me...I continue to watch millionare and billionare investment groups combine their resorces to buy things, and they are applauded...but yet when the working poor try to do the same, they're put down...

What kind of brain washing is that I wonder...that the rich are allowed and encouraged to combine resorces to improve their lives, but when the working poor try to do the same, are compared to communist, or called lazy ect ect...

The brainwashing has begun and is in effect...
