I'm assuming that the Gulf of Mexico is to be included in the East Coast selection.

I'll give you a hint: the real 'Inland Empire' isn't in California.

If you can't handle the truth, call your shrink.
(Nearby everyone on the coasts has one!)

I think the Sunbelt - Phoenix, Vegas, Dallas, Housotn, Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh...have the best quality of life.

Also in this question its not clear if the South is considered on the "East Coast".

I voted for the west coast since that's where I live. Yes I've seen some of the east coast but I like it here better.

Man, talk about a loaded term... what does "quality of life" mean?

Quality of life issues regarding places of residence include social, economic, environmental, safety + health, education, transportation, and public service factors.

The US cities never do well in the world rankings when the question of quality of life arises. The highest rated city in the USA is Honolulu which was ranked 27th in world cities with the greatest QOL.

Usually the reclusive hermitic towns with majestic landscapes do very well here, places like Zurich, Geneva, Sydney,Vancouver.

IMO, overall the East Coast has a higher quality of life, 16 of the 20 wealthiest counties in the usa are located between Boston and Washington DC. Just about every inch of earth from Maine to Key West can be lived upon and serves a purpose, thats just not the case interior west coast.

As far as cities are concerned I would say the West Coast cities have a higher quality of life due to many reasons including weather, landscape, and the wests general non-involvement of the huge migration of the southern uneducated poor mionorities during + after WW 2.

Both the East and West Coast have to many ILLEGALS and are generally overcrowded. The Midwest is nicer.

The East Coast is also richer in history--this is where America was born!!! This place is far safer than the WILD, WILD WEST!!!
