Seattle's skyline is visible from parts of South Whidbey Island, anywhere from 25-30 miles away depending on the exact location. If you look south while traveling on Highway 525 near Bayview you can get a glimpse of it on a clear day. The angle is such that if the atmospheric conditions are right, you can see Mount Rainier along with it. I'd be surprised if there are any places farther away with views of Seattle that aren't on mountains.

Yes, that's a fine picture you've chosen, knke. I think my dad has another one from his visit, and it shows more. It had just rained, so, you know...

^^^This photo is well known in NC, but have you seen this one from nearly 81 miles northwest of Charlotte?

Oh yeah this was posted a few pages back! I forgot about it! This is an incredible pic! 81 miles is just ridiculous. I know of a picture of Boston from a mountain in NH. Or is it VT? Idk, I'm ignorant

You can see the Rochester skyline on a very clear day from the CN Tower.

It seems that someone did an even better pic from 91 miles away.

Big Yellow Mountain is about 2 miles southeast of the NC/Tenn state line. Though the distance is only 91 miles (by plane; ie a straight line) the shortest route by vehicle is 121 miles.

Awesome topic and totally cool pictures above, all of them. Truth is under ideal conditions, one could see a great deal farther away than usual for most cities if they were looking at the right time. So on that note, I have seen downtown Dallas from above the Red River (on OK border) by air, no doubt, at about 25,000 ft. That was about 75 miles. I have also seen the top of the Sears Tower when conditions were almost ideal from Aurora, IL. on the ground which was around 35 miles. I could clearly make out downtown Denver from top of Pikes Peak but that is not really news worthy at that height but still a sight to see.

I can see Downtown LA from a corner of my backyard on a clear day. I live on a hill.
