I don't think I could ever live in New York City, although it is surely an interesting place to visit. Property just costs way too high, and city life gets to be a drain after a while.

Los Angeles and San Francisco I would also very much love to visit, but not live there. Why not? Earthquakes. Yes, I do live in Florida and we get hurricanes, but at least we can see those 5 days in advance. Living in an earthquake zone to me would be too much like living on top of a ticking timebomb.

And New Jersey. I wouldn't want to live in New Jersey. But that's just because it is, well, New Jersey.

I am not all that sure that liberal means the same to all people that consider themselves liberal, I have learned that after living in Portland. I am definitely not sure if liberal on the east coast is the same liberal as the western USA liberal. I would call Boulder and Portland and Seattle, but Portland more so, a more radical type leaning that calls itself liberal, I personally cannot relate to their liberal mindset here, and I would definitely be considered liberal by east coast standards.
