Ahh the one that got away, huh?

St Cloud State university got free publicity a few years ago. A guy got elected homecoming queen.

There was a lot of ridicule , but it would have died down if it wasn't for the SCSU prresident (Saigo) keeping it in the papers by defending the selection and debating in the newspaper everyone who ridiculed it.

Pen and Teller did a report on this as well on their HBO Tv Show.

Also gained fame after Motley Crue started a riot there in the late 80s

I've heard of St. Cloud & always thought the name was cool. Is it named after a saint? Never heard of a saint called Cloud before.

It's named after a suburb of Paris.

I was born, raised, and live in Minnesota and even I only know about St Cloud because of the college hockey team. St Cloud Tech and St Cloud Cathedral have had some good high school hockey teams as well, too. That's about it.

I do, but that's because of a mattress commercial.

There's a guy called the St. Cloud Superman. He wears a superman shirt and cape and stands on street corners and protects the city.

MPR: A super hero, St. Cloud-style

It's quite odd if you ask me, but you're sure to see a sighting somewhere in the city on any given day.
