I don't like that nickname at all either,it puts my city down.Cause I know my city is not a mistake.I get really mad when people on national TV refer to Cleveland as that.

...hometown of John Waters. Even in far flung places as London and Los Angeles, Baltimore = JW, Hairspray and Pink Flamingos.

I was born in (West-) Berlin in Germany.

Most will know or at least have heard of the Berlin wall... allegory for the iron curtain between west and east.

Birthplace of the American Revolution
Medical center
High-tech center
One of the world's great seats of education

A couple of others show how some things a city is known for can be sort of short-term: Used to be on everyone's radar as the home of Cheers, but that's probably faded a lot in all the years since the show's run ended. Only in the last few years it's been the closest any city in that time could get to claiming the title as capital of American professional sports, which lasts as long as it lasts.
