Dang, those property taxes are nuts - that's well over twice as much as I pay here per housing $$.

I wonder if it's lower or higher priced due to it's history? Either way, it's a beautiful home, too bad the taxes are the real horror show. How does anyone afford to live on L.I. Except the extremely wealthy? Is all of N.Y. Even upstate, taxed like that? We are looking at Upstate/Adirondak region as a possible place to relocate but not if the taxes are going to be that crazy.

Upstate taxes are just as bad, but the houses are really cheap so it evens out.

Most middle class homes on LI have taxes of 9-13k.

If I recall it was remodeled/updated. If you look at the side of the new house you can tell that its the same house by the chimney and the porch.
