A "starter" two bedroom house with modest amenities will run you about $12 in Nashville.

In Phoenix it just depends on what suburb you're looking at.

I live in N. Scottsdale and a starter home here will run you around $500,000-$600,000, condos will be less. Cheapest home in my immediate area is priced at $475,000.

In Phoenix proper can get a nice starter home for around $225,000-$275,000. And if you look at Paradise Valley you could find a small starter home for around a million.

In my area, a starter home would be about $270,000 in the suburban areas just outside of the downtown. They would be about $20,000 less downtown.

$150,000-$200,000, as long as you can't see or touch any waterfront from the property, then it doubles.

In my hometown of APPLETON, WI., $100,000 will get you a pretty decent "Starter Home". Taxes would be around $2000 yr. In my home away from home city (Henderson Nv) a "Starter" would be closer to $250,000 - 300,000.
