Brevard, NC possibly. It's about a half hour or so to Greenville from there.

My biggest obstacle has been finding an affordable place to live for a month or two while shopping for my forever home. I always end up back in Florida, because I know the area and where to stay, but I would love to spend a month or longer in Dahlonega, Dawsonville, Cleveland or any of the surrounding towns without signing a long-term lease. Any suggestions? From what I can tell, most people who offer furnished rentals are using them for vacation properties. I've seen several listed on sites like VRBO and Homeaway, but the prices are very high. Are there any decent extended stay places that won't remind me of the Bates motel?

Edit: You can see by the time that I haven't even gone to bed yet! I just found some classified ads in the Dahlonega Nugget. I'll start making some calls tomorrow!
