Default Areas to swim near Dahlonega

My kids have been begging me to get on here and ask where all the swimming holes are. We will be leaving behind a pool here and my kids are like fish. To them, that's the only sad part about leaving. I read in a pamphlet somewhere about something at Lake Lanier (water slides and such), but that is all I have seen. Any help would be MOST appreciated.

Default Dicks Creek has a nice swimming hole

Try Dicks/Waters creek up by Turners Corner which is north of Dahlonega on hwy 19 north. Also Lake Winfield Scott near Suches has a nice lake and beach for swimming.

Default Lake Lanier

These two web sites sum up lake lanier. It's traditional a boaters lake but with the many parks there are plenty of places to swim, fish, or picinic. There are lots of rivers and streams to fish and swim in. Dahlonega has the Etowah and Chestatee river, just south is Dawsonville with the Etowah and the Amicalola rivers. Dahlonega also has a city pool. Just go by the local welcome center.

Go to GeorgiaPower.com, click on lakes and it will show you the beach areas at the lakes. I think they are all $3 to get in
