Default Menton? nothing there

I go through Menlo going home to Alabama from Canton GA. It looks like a tiny town with nothing!! There is a 4 way stop that I go through and I rarely ever seen another car. There could be more to the town if you turn right or left but coming from Summerville GA going toward Menton AL there is nothing but open space and a few houses. It is beautiful but very remote!

Default I hope you are not looking for a job there

I live near Menlo, and often drive through there to enjoy the scenery atop Lookout Mountain. The others are right; Menlo is a beautiful town, but there are severe socio-economic problems with the town and the county. If you are looking to pursue a career there, you should think about moving either farther north to Chattanooga, TN or east to Rome, GA. I live in Holland, GA and I have a 15 min drive to Rome. I am lucky because I have a position at a software company and I am paid well. Take a look at the average income from Summerville and the income from Rome. The major industry in both towns is mill work, but in Rome, there are more options. you do not have those in Chattooga county unless you have a professional position, and even then you have to fight off political piranhas.
Regardless of what other people tell you about schools in Menlo, they are not that great. Yes the classroom size is small, but the school is outdated. There are many private schools in Rome, so you may want to consider those options.
If you are looking to attend school, There are many options in Rome, Dalton, Jacksonville, AL, and Chattanooga.

Menlo is a beautiful town. If you are looking for peace and quiet, then look no further, but if you are looking for a job or career change, then look for a larger, more economically stable town.
