Afternoon/Evening,

I plan on moving from the Reno area to Rincon GA within 9 months. I am a single father with two kids. I want to raise them in a small town with a small town ambience, try and provide the best i can for them.

I have family over that way and thats one of my biggest factors on moving there.

So my question is this, how are the schools?
I currently work IT here at a local hospital, are job prospects abysmal over that way?

When it comes to a two/three bedroom apartment what am I looking at rent wise?

I've googled this information, 10 stars and 'i love it' are great and all, but I want a little bit of human feedback to double check.

Any help is much appreciated,

Thank you ~

There doesn't seem to be much discussion of life in Rincon in the CD archives.
Safe, affordable outside Savannah,,

IIRC, Rincon is very small. Several posters suggested Richmond Hill.

Rincon is a long way from Richmond Hill...just sayin'.

I have a good friend that lives in Rincon and he loves it. Traffic is not great getting off the interstate, as it only has one exit, but there are several upscale neighborhoods, and it's a country setting, away from larger towns. That said, they do have your normal grocery stores and restaurants, so it's not the boonies. If you plan on getting an industrial-type job, that is not a bad place to be. Gulfstream is nearby, as well as Port Wentworth.

Schools in that area are good. A lot of folks from Savannah move out that way to get away from the bad schools in town. Rent-wise, expect to pay upwards of $1100 for a 3-bedroom. IT is a good field to be in; you can get a job just about anywhere.

You say you have family "over that way"; where exactly? I lived in Pooler for some time and I loved it. It's near to Rincon and much more accessible. Rent would be about the same for the largest of apartments.
