Default WALESKA anyone?
Im new to this forum and am considering moving to Canton/Waleska....we are military and DH is deployed. My friend lives in Waleska in Lake Arrowhead but I am considering the Walden Crossing Apt.'s or a home in Waleska.....can anyone help me with input?? Is it SAFE and friendly?? Thx so so much....

Waleska & Canton are very safe & friendly. I moved to Canton a year and a half ago from MI and I love it.

Thx rubia, for chiming in here! Can you tell me what you like about it? I am married with no kids, in my late 30's....anyways, I saw a great house in Waleska for rent and a nice apt. in Canton but I dont know which one would be best for a temporary lease......any thoughts?

I am married with no kids, in my mid 30's, and I moved to Canton from NJ 20 months ago.

Lake Arrowhead, where your friend is, is really nice and safe (gated) and a lot of the cottage homes are vacation homes. Since it's nearing the end of the summer season, you could probably rent one short term for a good price.

Waleska is nice, and slightly more rural than Canton. Walden Crossing sounds familiar. Are they the apartments on the top of the hill off (I think) 140? Or is it Hwy 20? Anyway - I don't know much about them. Sorry.

Yep, that is Walden Crossing, on the hill. Their apt.'s are pricey and I havent lived in an apt., since I lived in NY, a looooong time ago. The only thing I am concerned about Waleska, is that it IS kind of a drive from anything.....kwim? Good idea about looking in Lake Arrowhead for a winter rental....
