Yea its not the safest place on earth, but its safe enough to enjoy the shopping, and vending going on, and for an insider tip ever Friday they have a drug task force out there, and they want people to know, so if you plan on drinking, or selling drugs its not a good idea, last friday they banked over 10 people. They also random road blocks along US 247, so be aware of that as well.

Smiley's of Macon is currently going through lots of changes that are benefitting the market, the vendors, and shoppers. New building projects are either underway, planned, or completed. The entire market is more clean and safe than ever before.

You, my friend, have lived a sheltered life. Smiley's is one of the very worse flea markets I have ever been to. I can think of five I have been to in the last year that make that place look, well, like a Mexican street market (which it is). I will search the shoppers guide before I ever head back there again.
