Default Airports

You have 2 equi-distant choices for domestic flights. Dublin is within 2 hours of the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport (AHJIA) and also the Savannah-Hilton Head airport. (People who are willing to break the speed limit by 10-15 mph often make both airports in 1:45).

For international flights, Atlanta would offer far more than Savannah, although I have to confess ignorance on the number of flights that Savannah actually offers.

If you enjoy the buzz of Atlanta and the charm of Savannah as your actual day-trip destinations, you have lucked up with Dublin, since it is the halfway point between Atlanta and Savannah. It is also within 25 miles of the geographic center of the state (marked by a lot of trees!). You will be 2 hours from Columbus, Augusta, and Athens-- favorite cities for business or leisure.

If ticket costs are a factor, then you might want to consider JAX (Jacksonville, FL). For some reason the flights in/out of JAX is cheaper....even if you have to fly through Atl. I know of someone who lives about 30 minutes from Dublin who will book her flight to JAX, but get off in Atl. Of course you can only do this if you don't check any luggage.

Even if you drive, JAX to Dublin is only about 3 and a half hours. Not to bad.
