Default ATHENS area playgrounds and parks

We are making a trip to your neck of the woods and would like to know which are the nicest parks in your area. Also, can you point us to a great playground for our child? Any outdoor concerts during August? Thanks.

The World of Wonder Playground is the absolute cool kid place! Athens Clarke County Leisure Services site has a detailed list of other great parks in the Athens, GA area. There are outdoor concerts at Ashford Manor (broken link), in nearby Watkinsville, GA every other week. Enjoy your visit!

I love Memorial Park!!! It's a pond with ducks and walking trails. Bring a blanket and lounge on the hill overlooking the pond. There is also a free zoo at Memorial Park call Bear Hollow. Bear Hollow link

Another place that I love is the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia. It is also free and is absolutely gorgeous!!!! Link to the Botanical Gardens
