Default Florida native wants out

Need help in relocating to either North Georgia or North Carolina. Job is not relevant as I work from home. I do need to fly to So. Florida from time to time so an airport is a must. Also good schools and safe neighborhood.

Try the far norther suburbs of Atlanta. Maybe Forsyth County or Cherokee. Im also in love with the Helen area but dont know about the schools in that area.

From Northern Forsyth Co. your closes major International airport would be about an hour south (Atlanta). Im not sure of any major airports in North Carolina, at least in the mountain areas. There are ones in the Triad, Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham

You may want to consider East Atlanta as well. Is your desire for land a privacy want, or ?

Try northern SC, Rock Hill area.
Charlotte airport is smaller than ATL, and much easier to navigate. Flights to MIA, FLL, TPA, DAY, JAX, Melbourne, Orlando, etc., many times per day from CLT. Good schools in York County, plenty of room to grow. Maybe 30 minutes to the CLT airport.
ATL airport is south of Atlanta and is a major pain. Parking is nonexistent unless you park several miles away and bus it.

I purchased a foreclosure on Lake Wildwood in April of this year. I have not started to remodel it yet, just cleaning up the property to this point. I am traveling back and forth from Tampa to Macon almost every weekend. I have lived in many major cities most of my life and I want to say that I find Macon a lovely place to be. Of course the longest amount of time spent there for me so far has been two weeks getting permits to build etc.

From speaking to residents in Lake Wildwood I understood that a change in management was taking place and that efforts to clean up the lake area were underway. From my talks with several residents most of the mess at the lake was due to poor management of funds and absent owners renting to anyone with the cash to pay the rent. This has led to many former lovely homes looking like garbage.

Efforts are underway to make Lake Wildwood beautiful once again. I for one will not sit back and let someone else worry about what's happening down the street. As far as crime in Macon, look at the population ratio of any city of that size and count your blessings.

Cobb County isn't bad and the school systems there are good. Your suggestions are excellent. I would go further in saying if he's interested in NC he should try Shelby County NC

Check out Alpharetta GA, great schools and easy access to the Atlanta. Very safe location to raise a family. Plenty of good restaurants, parks, shopping.
