Isn't Lee County in the CSA and not the MSA?? Either way its one county over 100k...

Can the 800k sq. ft. Peachtree mall compete against the 1.1 million/180k sq. ft. outside promenade Augusta mall (Apple, PF Changs, Williams Sonoma, Chop House, Sephora, Pandora).. Do you have anything comparable in Columbus to the upscale three level Surrey Center in Augusta? What's in Columbus similar to the 115 acre Village at Riverwatch in Augusta?

Your airport serves 100k per year and our airport had a passenger record in 2010 and will do the same thing in 2011...

May/25/11
Year to date, Augusta Regional has had 175,406 total passengers, which is up 20.1 percent from last year at the end of April. Part of that increase stems from the existence of American Eagle, which was not yet flying into Augusta in April 2010.
Give it up dude.

3. Hinesville(Ghetto, also listed as one of the worst places to live in the U.S. :/ )
4. Macon(Very Ghetto and Dangerous)
In what way is Augusta not quite there yet? We need to give the OP honest answers.

Okay, you want an honest answer? Okay here we go buddy, Augusta may be larger than Columbus Statistically but Columbus has been the second city(besides Savannah which we all know is a different ball park) statistically until Augusta consolidated with Richmond County to gain sq. milage and population, if Augusta hadn't consolidated with Richmond County, It would still have its 1990 population of around 40,000, so suck it!

My dad was in the military so I lived in both Columbus because of Fort Benning and Hinesville because of Fort Stewart, and Columbus is a great city, went to the number one elementary school in GA Britt David, and thought it had a nice Urban feel! The airport sux a** do. Hinesville is overcrowded and is the WORST place I've lived, but It wasnt far from Savannah and its airport so, yeah, hope this helps!

Columbus consolidated with the whole Muscogee county. Augusta isn't even consolidated with the entire county(Hephzibah, Blythe)... The entire Richmond County population is over 200k..

2010 Census
Richmond 200,549
Muscogee 189,885

Metro Augusta 556,877
Metro Columbus 294,865

In what way is Savannah in a diffrent ball park??

Savannah has a better airport, downtown, and the downtown feels more urban compare to Augusta... But metro Augusta has more jobs, larger economy, bigger GDP, bigger metro, etc..

2008 MSA GDP rankings
1. Augusta $17,823 million - ranked 109th nationally
2. Savannah $13,181 - ranked 144th
3. Columbus $10,909 - ranked 161st
4. Macon $7,503 - ranked 208th

2008 CSA GDP rankings. Augusta doesn't have a CSA, but the MSA GDP is still higher.
1. Augusta $17,823 million
2. Savannah $13,181 + Hinesville-Ft. Stewart $3,129= $16,310
3. Columbus $10,909 + Auburn-Opelika $3,559= $14,468
4. Macon $7,503 + Warner Robins-Ft. Valley $5,113 =$12,

The next two largest counties in the Columbus area are Russell at 52k and Harris at 32k
Since Hinesville is close to Savannah, that would be the closest airport. When it comes to air service, Savannah is light years ahead of both Columbus and Augusta. Savannah is the second busiest passenger airport in GA outside of HJAIA, hands down. It has more air service and non-stop flights to major airline hubs other than Atlanta than Augusta and Columbus combined.

Savannah wins this one without an argument!!

Once back in 1971 with Muscogee because we were the ONLY incorperated city in Muscogee at the time besides Bibb City which was still incorperated until 2000. any more questions?

Yes you are very true about the airport, but last time I checked Alicia didnt list Savannah as one of the cities, she listed Hinesville, so you lose!
