I doing a pleasure/business trip to GA in mid-October. I'll be in & near Thomaston for a week, then on Friday, I will be driving from Thomaston to Rome. I am wondering approximately how long it will take. I anticipate leaving Thomaston around 5-6 pm, which I realize is the typical commute time. Would it be better to go earlier or later? I have a class & a big test on Saturday, so I want to get to my hotel at a reasonable time...preferably before midnight, if not sooner.

I'll be in classes/testing from 8-noon, then I need to drive back to the ATL Hatfield airport, drop off the rental car & catch my plane back to California at 430 pm. Will I have enough time?

I need to change my travel arrangements quickly, if this can't be done.

Thanks for your help!

From Thomaston to Rome is about 3hr. You will miss most of the rush hour traffic around atlanta (take I285 around the west side of the city) Rome to the airport about 2-2.5 hrs if you leave Rome @ noon.
