The same. About 40-45 minutes. And he leaves work in the middle of rush hour (between 5-6pm).

Thank You meatball
I lived in Coral Springs since 1973, and I recently moved from Coconut Creek in early 2007. The only thing I can say is I wish we had done it sooner. I'm not as familiar with Ball Ground, but Canton has been great. My kids now go to a public school for the first time, which has been better than I expected. They LOVE their teachers...

The shopping is fine (re: previous posts) - if you don't mind driving 10-15 minutes, which is alot shorter than when I drove to Coral Square from Coco. Crk. -- 20-30 minutes because of traffic and lights!!! I drive a few exits north on 575 to get to decent shopping on Riverstone, and if I want any store I could ever ask for, I drive south on 575 for 20-25 minutes to get to Kennesaw. I LIKE that I'm not stuck in the middle of a traffic nightmare anymore - driving for a few minutes doesn't bother me - at least it's not all in my back yard anymore!! Also, for those of you who like swim/tennis SD's, don't forget about Bradshaw Farms - it's beautiful! Good school district, too...

My husband and kids and I fully checked out the area of Canton, Woodstock and all surrounding areas to see if we would even like to live in Canton. WE both found that we could never give up all that we have in Florida to move there, it seems to be a very depressed area, afew nice home developments, but the roads are not adequate, the traffic is horrible!! If you live in River Green to get out in the morning and cross rd. 20 i believe it is called, the main road to get out, you have to sit for like 45 minutes... so what is country if the traffic is so bad?? We also found that for the children you must drive many exits off the interstate to go anywhere, even for adult nights out... We did not find the countryside to be very nice, except for the town of Kenneshaw, that was very pretty and very country like, but in Canton, there is nothing, just woods and some home developments, nothing more then that. Being a country boy himself, and growing up on 250 acres of land in Mass, my husband feels that the lack of things to do for the kids is not a good thing in the Canton area, could lead to boredom and we know what comes along with that!! The women i met wanted to move there to raise their children but they all seem to work like 50 hours a week, and to get to work for a 15 mile drive it takes them 1 1/2 hours to get there!!! Canton does not have any performing arts theaters of any great shakes, we couldnt find a local movie theater, and there is no mall, or any shopping to speak of, it seems the town is building homes but nothing more, and the homes that are nice are at least in the 400,000.'s... you may save on property tax and homeowners insurance but they have a state income tax and salaries are less. Some of the developments such as Bridgemill, all the homes look alike...
For the boys, the sports fields are hard to find, we found ONE! here we have sports for the kids year round!!! Well its something to think about!! Go and See it !!!
Movie theaters, malls, shopping, etc. are all within 15-30 minutes whether you go north or south. We just moved here 6 months ago from Coconut Creek, and our kids have LOVED their school, and have had a blast playing football and doing cheerleading with CYFA - there are parks everywhere!! I have opportunities coming from all over of things for my kids to get involved in - I'm actually ready for a break!!

I have a 3500 sq. ft. house on almost an acre and a half that I paid $260,000 for (in 2007)!! No complaints from me when my taxes and ins. in FL would have been $10,000 for a 3/2 on a small lot in Winston Park, and they total $3000 here for alot more!! OK, so Bridgemill has cookie cutter homes, but isn't that all that South Fl. is now??!! We are very happy in our decision to move to Canton - wish we had done it sooner... Perfection is no where -- but I'd take watching the deer roaming in my backyard, good friends chatting at the bus stop in the A.M., and the overall friendly people up here any day over south Florida...
