I currently live in CT and it is crazy expensive and just boring. I want to move south or somewhere with cheaper rent. Currently I pay over $1000 for a 2 bedroom in the worst worst section of town, it's BAD. Crackheads everywhere police everywhere just a horrible place I don't feel safe at all.

So, me and two friends have decided we want to go somewhere nicer. we have jobs to do with childcare, call center, and a manager at a gormet food store. We want to move somewhere country, but not TOO country. Somewhere where we can go out and have fun, but at the same time have a relaxing countryish atmosphere, if that makes any sense. Looking for a 3 bedroom in the range of $300 - $750. No trailers or manufactured homes!! We are in our early/mid twenties and just want to start a new, better life for ourselves. (we would also like a house with a porch and two rocking chairs lol) Also has to be pet friendly. If you've seen true blood or hart of dixie I'm looking for something similar to that kinda atmosphere.

thank you!

$300-750 is going to get you a dump, or the trailer/ mobile home your looking to avoid. Also, job opportunities will be very limited in most "country-ish" areas- there aren't many call centers or gourmet food stores out in the country.

Seven Hundred a month might get a two-BR up here in the mountains... but like Bob said... a job... no way. Not to mention.. you'd have to drive over 100 miles to get to anything even remotely night-life like. We roll up the streets here no later than 9.

Okay, this poster has already posted this in the Alabama, Texas and Kentucky fora that I've seen.

Maybe all of this poster's threads with this (or very similar) titles should be consolidated and placed in the General U.S. forum. It might attract a wider range of answers that way. Once the poster has more specific questions he/she would like to ask about each state, then they can post them.

Just my $.02.
