Metro Augusta The mid-size atlanta (Macon, Roswell: mcmansions, hotel, vacation)

i was just downtown last night, it was thousands of ppl down there. It wasnt even a special event like first friday or border bash, or arts in the heart festival or nothing. Cars was everywhere, it wasnt even enough room for anybody to park nowhere. Augusta downtown has added a new store, or resturant, or bar it seems like everytime i go downtown. Atlanta/Roswell go downtown on a friday or saturday night & see all the ppl walking around for yourself.

Richmond County you are wasting valuable server space talking about Augusta. DisgustaSucks was right when he said all those things about Augusta, but I would like to add a little more to that and correct some things that were said by other users.

First off, Savannah is more talked about of any city in Georgia after Atlanta. The only reason Augusta comes out of peoples mouth is because James Brown. For Augusta to be the second largest city in Georgia, Savannah does a better job of representing that. Augusta is just another Georgia bus stop there's nothing really important.

Second, half the population of Disgusta is in South Carolina. This construction your talking about is a joke as well. Just because you can count the number of building being built on your hand doesnt means its growing. Also lets look at the Spaghetti Junction in Atlanta, and how horrible it is, a split could handle all the problems a Spaghetti Junction does.

Third and Final, if you take the Master from Augusta you can just stick a fork in it because its done.

Augusta's most famous asset is undoubtedly the Masters Golf Tournament... which is virtually impossible for the average person to get a ticket to see... and on top of that.. any tourist to Augusta cannot even get a glimpse of the famed course... heck there is not even a Masters oriented museum or vistors center where one can purchase official Masters merchandise.. There is a reason also why when the Masters is televised.. you never ever see video footage of the city or especially the area right outside the course. Washington Road is a tacky eyesore of ugly 70s era strip malls and fast food franchises... hardly the proper gateway to one of the most prestigious sporting venues in the world.

Its just rediculous, anyone wanting to move to Augusta save yourself the time, and gas money.

why so many haters, because mayorofmacon is from macon,ga. Augusta is growing fast everyday. Ppl come visit for yourself and see. I cant count all the buildings on my hand mayorofmacon because its so many porojects going on. Disgusta & mayorofmacon are dead wrong. Macon downtown at night is nowhere near augusta's nightlife. Ppl from macon, have said our first friday makes macon look silly at nightlife. Ppl have said savannah & macon are slower than augusta, & columbus is even slower. Augusta is the second biggest city by far everybody come see for yourslef and see all the construction going on

so mayorofmacon we should talk about macon what construction is happening there over augusta. What construction is happening in savannah greater than augusta. Come on who is moving to macon. Augusta mall still has a p.f. changs, & coach, stores your dead mall doesnt have. We are getting a dave & busters. Mayorofmacon we know DAVE & BUSTERS is not opening a location in macon maybe in 5 yrs, neither in savannah, or columbus anytime soon. So you can say all you want about augusta is growing everyday. Why are ppl so mad because their city isnt growing. Macon isnt growing nowhere as fast a augusta. Macon is just getting a double tree hotel, augusta been had one. Macon is a dead mall, augusta mall is added as we speak with millions of dollars. MayorofMACON youre just mad because macon sucks. So take your anger out of augusta because its bigger.

If you want to move to augusta, please come dont listen to mayorofmacon he is just mad because every year since 2000 augusta has added more ppl than any other city besides atl. Its augusta, savannah, athens, macon, columbus.
Its since since these 2 continue to hate on augusta, why arent ppl movin to other cities in ga besides atl. Even athens added more ppl than macon how sad a college town beat you

MayorofMacon how can you talk about augusta & you are from macon. I have been to macon several times & it sucks. Its dirty, rundown, looking especially downtown. Warner Robins is the only place growing in macon, not macon its terrible. I have lived in atl, & augusta is bigger than macon. Nothing against macon but i just visited augusta & it seem like 5 to 10 more times construction was going on compare to macon. I moving to augusta in a couple of months, its a really beautiful city the riverwalk is amazing. Because im from atlanta, i to though augusta was smaller. But when i visited i was shocked at how much construction was going on. The mall was adding alot of new stores, augusta is defintiely own its way to be the next truly major city IN GA. Then i would pick savannah, macon, then columbus. Augusta did remind me of a mid-size atlanta. So i have to agree with richmond county, sorry but macon, savannh, & columbus do seem smaller mayorofmacon.
