Default NY to FL to the South?

My husaband and I are considering a move to NC or Ga from Fort Lauderdale. Either would be nice because our companies have offices throughout both states. We hate to leave FL, but who can afford it anymore? My biggest concern is my fear of sticking out like a sore thumb. My husband is Puerto Rican, I am mulatto, thus our daughter is a little bit of everything. Any city suggestions where we may be able to "melt" in?

You will be accepted no matter where you live as long as you're a nice person. Of course, you might have a better chance in the inner suburban areas where it is more ethnic, but even is you move to the country, you'll be fine. A good place that's very ethnic to check out is Gwinnett county.

I agree that in the Atlanta metro area, Gwinnett County has the most mixed diverse group of people other than if you go very inner city like the Virginia Highlands neighborhood or something like that.

North Carolina, I dunno. I'm sure there are some cultural high spots there, but we are talking about the NASCAR center of the U.S. you know.

Default Thank You!

Thank you to those who have replied. Moving is such a big decision and who wants to throw a dart and hope they land on the right spot? I guess all we can do is take some time and travel to those places of interest and take it "all" in. I just wanted some input from those who have been or lived in my areas of interest to get an idea of what to expect. Thanks again!
