Hi, I am originally from Savannah. My husbands job is a little like the army and we have moved around alot. Recently, we moved to St. Marys, Ga (camden county) from Richmond Hill, Ga. I think you would love Richmond Hill. They are doing a great job of controlling growth and keeping a small town feel. Plus if you need anything Savannah is 20min down the road. Another option is Folkston, but I think they only have 1 grocery store. So, keep in mind your wife's sanity and please at least move to an area that has a Walmart or Target....Tifton, Valdosta, Albany, Bainbridge...what is the difference, really?. I am very happy with St. Marys and it is close to Jacksonville and Brunswick. I hope you return home to your family soon.

I love (sarcastic) how we all hang our ideas of people and areas on stereo types that have been used mostly by comedy to make a living. If we don't have a tag to hang on a place or people we just don't know what to do. And I see enough Yuppies in my small town, the social climbers and wanna be,s. God help a whole lot of people if they ever had to walk through cow manure or feed a few chickens. Far too many people have no clue as to how living in the metro disconnects them from the earth. Living rural and country can help give you a sense of humbleness, balance and inner peace. But, viva la difference!!!

And if you did treat crimes like that as if it was a terrorist act, you would have to treat all the racist things blacks do also as terror too.....then could you imagine the prison statistics? Then one more thing to blame on the racist white people for locking up criminals make sure you correct my misspelled words too, I left them just for you ![]() |

Here you are, away from your family, over in Iraq fighting against actual terrorism, not just political incorrectness, and people want to give you a hard time about wanting to find a nice small town to raise a family when you return. What's up with that?! |

Hey Man, I've read most all your post and I have to say that we are on the same page about everything. Unfortunately the old South you are looking for is hard to find in Georgia. I have lived in South Ga all my life and it has changed. Too many people from all over looking for a warm climates are bringing different attitudes and customs. Not to say they are wrong but they are not Southern. The South is the most populated area of the USA now, Georgia is the 9th most populated state. Things have changed, more people bring more change, some good, some bad, but mostly just different. I know what you are looking for because I grew up in such a place. It's gone now. I expect you will find that any town in South Ga that has the population of Bainbridge will have the same problems. Stay away from Atlanta and the large areas, stick with towns around 10,000 or less. If Bainbridge is your home go back to that area of the state and pick a small town close by. Cairo and Donalsonville are not so bad and I've always liked Havana, FL. Good luck in your hunt and I hope you come back to Georgia,,,,,,We need people like you. |

GaBoy-n-Irag,
First of all thank you for serving our country and keeping us free. I loved your Atlanta comment. My husband and I are from Moultrie a little town in South Georgia. I loved growing up down there. My husband's family is from Moultrie but mine is from South Carolina. So for all you idiots out there we are not related. I live North of Atlanta now and hate it here. The traffic is terrible, most of the people are not from Georgia. We are looking to buy land back in Colquitt and move back. I wish you luck and a safe return home. |

I'm sorry. The noose will always be a threat and a symbol of terror to black americans. I'm sorry white people can't understand this or won't. There is nothing funny about nooses and a noose isn't a prank. It is a threat. This was tool used to murder black americans and instill fear and the powerful message of the threat of bodily harm or murder. The word terrorism wasn't invent for radical muslims. I mean if you want to say ," Come to Iraq and experience real terrorism" I'll say, "Become a black person or any person of color on this planet and you'd stop whining about how bad racism is for whites"
