You are notorious for that in here based on what I'm reading ...Norton if 10 people were telling you a light was green you'd say it was red.....

Also, I never said no one couldn't comment I said no one from Columbus said anything about their city...Augustans bout that to the forum...That was the original subject that me and you had....so who's really changing subjects?
Why didn't he show the population estimates over the next 20 years based on metros? We could have added or subtract for the counties too..

Wow! These are the same people who claim Augusta has a inferiority complex.. I just saw you to use the growth from 2000-2020 when you put the county estimates.. When I clearly only used the 2010-2010 MSA predictions according to the article provided by the OP.. You basically tried to include an extra ten years into the debate versus me..

Columbus MSA 2020-2010

334,820-294,865=39,995

Augusta MSA 2020-2010

608,456-556,877= 51,579

I'm sure you didn't try to make it seem better for Columbus on purpose...

MSA growth 2000-2010(not estimates)
Augusta 57,193
Columbus 13,097

Not let's add the 2010-2020 estimates according to the OP
Augusta= 108,772
Columbus = 53,092

So you continue to bring outdated information to the table...Even if we use the current census, it still shows Columbus (city) outgrowing Augusta (city)...Look it up yourself...Wiki uses the population from the census...Take a look at cities 116-119...Notice the southern cities and the population changes since 2010...Since we can't find one source to use...I guess we'll have to use the census estimates.

So infact the census estimates are old compare to this, and you're only embarrassing yourself..
Funny,because it takes over a year to get a good estimate. So those numbers are wrong!

These are the numbers to go off of...The Census will most likely be the closet thing we have actually and that's what the cities population estimates are officially based off..

Nice job Columbuskidd.

We will just have to wait and see. But I see them readjusting these numbers in the future. I can't speak on any other city but Augusta-Richmond will be around 220,000 in 2020. Augusta downtown is changing for the better everyday and will be the focal point of leisure and entertainment for the whole CSRA. By 2020 Columbus white water thing would be in full operation and should have at least 2 big sporting events by then. I'm not rooting against Columbus or Savannah, I hope one day Columbus would grow larger than Montgomery, Augusta grows larger than Columbia and Savannah out grow Charleston. I just think these numbers are off, until 2020 I will go by the current numbers and reality.

MEANWHILE ... as Augusta and Columbus battle to become "Biggest City on the Fall Line" this decade, Savannah will still lead all the 2nd-tier cities in both REAL and PERCENTAGE growth, just as it did in the last (if these projections are to be believed, that is).

Savannah MSA 2000-2010
293,000 + 54,611 = 347,611 (18.6 percent)

Savannah CSA 2000-2010
364,914 + 60,614 = 425,528 (16.6 percent)

Savannah MSA 2010-2020 (projected)
347,611+ 79,521 = 427,132 (22.8 percent)
