Default What is the average time it takes to close first deal as buyers agent on established team?

I am seriously considering leaving my full-time, salaried marketing job to become a buyers agent for a very successful real estate team in my area. I have had my license for 7 years and have always "dabbled" in it part-time, depending on the job I had at the time. Real estate has always been something I have enjoyed and I would really like to re-enter the field full-time and give it my all.

That being said, what is the average time it takes to close that first deal as a buyers agent (which is fed leads that are pre-qualified by the licensed assistant)? I want to be realistic about how much savings I am going to need to get started. Going from a salaried position, it can be quite scary. However, I know I would enjoy the work much more than the position I am in now which should result in success with hard work!

Any experience or thoughts would be appreciated!
