Really thought UGA was going to pull that game out. . . . .

but two other Georgia universities are still competing for a national championship.

GA Southern travels to Norfolk, VA next weekend to play Old Dominion in the FCS quarterfinals, while Valdosta State travels to Mankato, MN to play Minnesota State-Mankato in the DII semifinals.

GA Southern has six national titles; VSU has two, and is looking to make their fourth appearance in the national championship game in the last ten years.

Haven't been keeping up with Southern's schedule, but someone did tell me they were playing an away game in Virginia. Now I know, lol.

I'm actually far more interested in the Mavs' hockey program, since they're Division I in the WCHA along with the U of Minn, UMD, St. Cloud, and Bemidji (nice to have a bunch of high-end programs in the same state), but if they want to carry some of that energy to football, who am I to argue?

If we lose, tho, it doesn't matter. It won't hurt as much as losing that first game to the Gophers this year. The second game was much better.

Black swarm? Gnats??!?

It's a sport that requires coordination, strength, teamwork, and skill which is played in some of the colder and more civilized areas of the country. I wouldn't expect you to understand.

I expect you'll find Minnesota football weather to be interesting. It's been a warm year, though, and it sounds like the temp might even be above freezing. I hope so. Better to beat a team on merit and not just because they can't handle real football conditions.

Good luck to all! I hope it's a good game!

None of that made any sense.

Truthfully, I'm a bit concerned about the weather.

Coach says they'll be fine though. They've been in cold weather before and came out just fine.

I have a friend that lived in minnesota for a few years; he says its a different kind of cold.

The GA Southern game just ended (on ESPN, yes!), and they won 49-35. Go Eagles!
