I am relocating to GA next month, I want some advice on which city is better McDonough or Jonesboro? I am looking for a home to rent with a basement and I have only found 2 homes that would fit my needs. I would also like to know about schools? Any hospitals or doctors offices in the area that I could find work at? Just any info would be helpful.

Thank You

Select an area in Henry county (McDonough/Stockbridge) because the public school system is overall considered better than any area in Clayton County. There are plenty of existing posts that give you more information about the Southern Crescent (Southside of Atlanta).

You would do better to have the job lined up before moving as the job market is tough all over the Atlanta area and Georgia. Remember as well, you would get more responses posting in the Atlanta forum than the Georgia one with more information.

Use this sticky post as your guideline to give the forum users more information. Read that first, then start your own thread with more information in the Atlanta forum and not the Georgia one. Good luck with your decisions and move.

Unless you are a thug, stay away from Jonesboro. Also, while Henry Co. schools are typical of Ga- not too good, Clayton Co. schools are terrible. Clayton Co used to be nice (I grew up there), but It has become an extension of inner city Atlanta.
