Default Fayetteville or Columbus

Very close family of 5 (kids age-16-15-5) looking at either Fayetteville or Columbus, which is better for a family. Looking for good schools, good community, (not too small of a town due to the teens ), but not a big town. Very diverse in culture. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

GA here we come......

The Fayette County Schools are rated very highly. Not sure which but it is number one or two in the whole state. There are several high schools. Fayetteville is neither small or big so kids should have plenty of friends but still be in a safe environment. You and they would have lot of choices for things to do, restaurants, shopping, and places to live. I believe that the further south you go the less diversity you will find but there is really an interesting cultural environment due to the proximity to Atlanta.

Thank you so much for the information. I think it is going to be Fayetteville. Now we have to look at housing and employment. It is going to be easy for me to get employment because i work at a hospital in admin for over 10 yrs, and i can usually get into any hospital or doctors office with my pass experience. My husband works for the state at with the department of juvenile justice and i dont know too much about GA's DJJ system or their regions. We will have to find out about that when we get there. We are putting our house up for sale in December and we hope to have it sold by Feb or March of 07. We will be moving in May of 07 (waiting till the kids get out of school), however if i get a job opportunity and we sell the house sooner, then we will be there before May 07. I think we will rent the first year or two to get more familiar with the area before we decide to purchase a home.
