Default Fall foliage reports.... please post color/photos here

Hello all. I am wondering if some of you could report fall colors (if any) in your area. Also some photos if possible.

Thanks!

No changes worth noting yet? Someone on a wx forum I am on said they had a good deal of color in their area (Sandtown I think), but only had one photo.

I have seen where some areas have dropped to the 40s lately and Newnan had dropped to nearly the 30s over the past few mornings. I am sure some color there will soon be popping. Strange, its 43° there right now, but its still 61° here now.

Thanks for any additional info.

Thanks. Yeah, it would be interesting to know. I know someone that lives in Sandtown, GA (from a weather forum) and I posted these photos for him that he took... I think he took these last week.... I am not even sure where Sandtown is. I have heard that northeast GA has a good deal of change, but like here, colors are not that nice because of the drought. It has been quite cold up there in northeast GA in those areas you mentioned. Well below 30° in some locations. I am sure some of the trees that are still green will be changing soon. I am suprised that more has not reported or posted photos. Maybe some here are not that interested in it this year. We have some color, but its dull and ugly. Many trees are still all green, while some of the early changing trees have lost many leaves.

No problem... here are more that you may like... these were taken in the Kingsport, TN area (northeast TN) a couple of days ago, by another member here on the boards and I thought I would share them here. In photo #1, it was taken from the top of Bays MTN, overlooking downtown Kingsport, which is about 1100-1200 ft. in elevation. I think the area where the photos were actually taken from is like 2100 ft. The lower elevations around here (in these shots) consist of alot of Loblolly pines and Southern Red Oaks, so that may explain some of the heavy green areas in some places in the lower elevations.

Someone on the Tri-Cities forums posted these from the Kingsport, TN area (atop of Bays MTN, which is well above Kingsport). As you can see, still very low color in some areas...

I must say that I am amazed at the difference in leaf color between Bristol and Johnson City vs. Kingsport. Many of the leaves in Kingsport are still green, whereas many places in Bristol and Johnson City seem to have lost most of the green. There are isolated spots in Bristol and JC where many trees are green, but does not seem as widespread as they are in KPT. I know that KPT is about 400 ft. lower in elevation and normally a little warmer, but I have noticed on TWC in the AM's that Kingsport has often had a cooler temperature than Bristol or JC. Also, I am noting the trees on top of Bays MTN, which is higher than Bristol and JC and they still seem to have a great deal of green! Its very interesting to say the least and its nice to see good color in KPT. Same cannot be said for Bristol or JC, where it seems like most of the leaves that are not green now had just turned brown and withered.
