Default Fine dining Macon/warner robins area

Me and My husband are thinking of moving out to Georgia. His son lives in Warner Robins and we would like to be close to there. I work as a cook up here in Washington state and am afriad I won't be able to make enough money unless I am doing some fine dining cooking down there. If someone could clue me in on the fine dining resturants down there or a really good catering company. Maybe a high class hotel that does banquets or nice country clubs. I have pretty much done it all up here so if you all could give me some ideas on where to look down there that would be great. Thanks for your help in advance.

you might have better luck finding a fine cook position in Macon. i know along Riverside/Arkwright they have Carrabbas and a French Restaurant (i dont recall its name). Warner Robins does have HUNDREDS of restaurants/hotels but, im am unsure if they are "upscale" considering your qualifications. PM me- i still have my WR phone directories and i also have a Macon phonebook as well!

Columbus is a good choice and it's only 1.5 hours from Warner Robins. We have several up scale restaurants.

I wouldnt suggest driving 1.5 hours from Warner Robins when everything columbus has the Macon Metro offers. You should look downtown Macon there are great restauraunt and check out the newly redone Cherry street plaza which is made out of some smooth solid never before used in Georgia.

We are talking fine dining, not chain restaurants. Columbus has the River Club, The Big Eddy, Green Island Hills Country Club and others. Besides these people are looking for somewhere to live and work. Columbus has a lot to offer them.

In Macon:

Country Clubs: Idle Hour is "the Club" - has 2 kitchens and caters their own ballroom. Brickyard - not sure if they have a restaurant, but they are trying to improve the facilities. Healey Point (old River North) - again, not sure if they have a restaurant.
The Macon City Club is not a "country club" but a business club downtown serving lunch and dinner.

For restaurants, most "fine dining" are owned by the chef, but if you are looking to be a sous chef type try Back Burner, Marco's, Natalia's, Micheal's on Mulberry, Downtown Grill or Midtown Grill. Downtown has a few lunch places, not really fine dining, but not fast food/deli either - Bert's, Adriana's, Market Street, Between the Bread/Micheal's on Mulberry.

Catering is hit or miss. Most are owned by the "chef".

No fine hotel. 1842 Inn is a high end bed & breakfast.
