Default Rome, GA for a bi-racial couple?

The wife's black (African), I'm white (probably best described as redneck). Looking at possibily moving to Rome, just wondering if there's anything we should be aware of, scared of, etc. We're pretty laid back and don't get our feathers ruffled too easily. We won't be new to Georgia, just new to the Northwest region. Any insights appreciated.

Whatever your decisions are as to where you decide to move, I wish you and your family the best of luck.

Rome is ok for mixed couples, I think. I've been here about 4 months. It depends why you're coming. This is a very christian city. Culturally, if you attend church, you should be ok. There does not appear to be outward hostility--muxed races are pretty accepted most places. Good luck. Salary and income aren't the best, so, if your looking for work and have a skill or education, you should be able to survive. If you lack the above, there are lots of low paying jobs around.

Thanks for the input. We're both educated professionals who met & married in a small southern town - heck, my grandfather worked for Governor Wallace - so weird looks are old news. Doesn't sound any different from my hometown (I remember seeing the Klan demonstrating when I was a teen) and people there were great to us.
