These two places are often considered to be the most liberal, arty, and "happening" cities in the whole state of North Carolina. Both are college towns crawling with young people with nightlife, good music scenes, and great restaurants. Which do you prefer and why?

Both...

Asheville has a great Blue Ridge Mountain culture and scenery while Chapel Hill is one of America's greatest college towns.

Why South Carolina? Neither of these towns are in that state either.

Its easier to get to North Carolina by way of South Carolina. Not as many roads go directly to NC from Georgia.
