MIAViaNJ is on a distinguished road
Default Georgia On My Mind!

Hello GA! Another "transplant" is coming your way, this one from Miami, FL. After much thought and consideration (between GA and NY), I've decided on GA. LOVE NY, but simply not fond of the winter gloom, the speed, or the fact that a single, 26-year old woman can't think of owning a home anywhere close to the action. So GA is definitely on my mind I've heard ALL the negatives (traffic, ridiculous growth, not the greatest transportation system, etc.) None of those phase me (actually, not much does coming from Miami!) I already deal with horrendous traffic, we have about 20 new neighbors every week, and what transportation system???? WHAT DOES CONCERN ME is the crime stuff I read about. Crime is everywhere..yes, but as a single female living there all alone, I'm concerned about the safety issue. I live in a suburban neighborhood now and I feel completely safe. However, I don't want to live in a suburban neighborhood in the ATL, I want to be close to the action and lights! Anyone have any suggestions on a hip area (lots of bars/shopping/young, professional 20somethings) that is relatively safe (no tasers required)? I'm looking to spend somewhere between $800-$950 on rent for a studio or 1/1. Thank you!!!!!
