We moved to Jefferson, GA in Apr 2007. We absolutely love it here.We chose Jefferson because of the Jefferson City Schools! The only downside coming from Pembroke Pines Florida is that Jefferson has no big stores/malls/shopping centers within the city. I see something being built on the corner of 129/11. Any idea what it is? Hoping to get a Publix soon )

I have seen that work going on at the bypass and 11 as well, but I also haven't heard anything about what is going there. Thank god the red light is almost finished at old pendergrass and bypass!

Cool Jefferson, GA

I can't agree with you more as it relates to the light on Old Pendegrass & bypass, although 129 is still such a huge danger. I have to cross it each morning to get my son to school. It scares me!! Crossing the road when cars are flying at 60 miles per hour to me is CRAZY!! I cross on Old Swimming Pool Rd...no light, just a stop sign......

By the way.... I found out the construction on 129 & 11 will be a Publix shopping center ...I guess this will be yet another dangerous intersection with all the traffic....but I am glad we'll have Publix....I don't care for Kroger down the street!

That's interesting to know, but I'm surprised Publix has decided to move to Jefferson so soon. I mean, we're getting big, but we're not THAT big yet! A new Publix is already in the works (as you probably know) at 124 & 332 near Braselton. But yeah, we could start having some congestion on Winder Hwy with a Publix, especially during the time of day when JCCHS gets out.

If you don't mind me asking, is the Publix construction at 129 and 11 something you heard by word-of-mouth, or is it official? I'm just surprised it hasn't been in the paper yet, but you know how things circulate...

The super Kroger is now open on the 129 bipass and I thought the Publix was supposed to be at 124 and 332???? Over in Hoschton. Maybe not.

I live just outside Jefferson off of Ethridge next to the Ethridge heritage farm.

I'm glad you like it out here tell your friends and maybe one will buy my farm

I'm moving because of allergies.

124 runs from the first four-way stop leaving jefferson (towards winder) all the way to braselton, then lawrenceville, then snellville, and so on. 332 runs from pendergrass to hoschton. they intersect about 4 miles from both b-ton and h-ton. it's a four-way stop, and you'll see the sign for publix, as well as the HUGE new shopping center going up next to traditions!

but if you just take old pendergrass out of town till it dead-ends, just turn left, and you're on 332. the site of the publix is just two or three miles on the right.

My family and I moved to Jefferson from Greenville, SC, in October because of the high ratings of the middle school. My daughter is happy there. It has been a little hard for me adjusting to a smaller place without the conveniences like a CVS or Walgreens on every corner.

Everything is growing quickly maybe soon we'll have a lot more places to shop

I am thrilled about the light that went up on 129/old pendegrass It felt so much safer!!!
