Woodstock/Acworth - opinions & commute (Marietta, Kennesaw: low crime, schools, live)

Hi all - have lived in Newnan for 17 years. Hubby commutes to Paces Ferry (45 mins). However, job location change means he will most likely be commuting to Franklin Rd (60 mins from Newnan). So we're looking to move.

Criteria:

--Our youngest is 19, so schools we don't care about.
--Low crime rate so I feel safe.
--More country preferred over city because I don't care for traffic.
--Don't really care about shopping or restaurants. There's the internet and food is everywhere
--The goal is to shorten the commute, be safe, in a more rural setting.
--Cobb County isn't very appealing to me either. I really like Coweta County (wish Tyrone was in Coweta and not Fayette!)

It's time to downsize anyway. Originally we wanted to move to Tyrone, but that would still put him 45 mins from the new job location.

So I'm looking at Woodstock and Acworth. Is a 20 minute commute from those towns to Franklin Rd. realistic? It would be daytime hours.

Kennesaw and Marietta don't appeal to me as the traffic seems to be a pain and the cities too large. Any further west (Dallas) seems too far away.

20 min commute from Acworth to franklin would be possible with no traffic ....i stayed in cobb stayed on franklin back when it really was bad stayed in kennesaw near bells ferry it was ok stayed in east cobb that area is not what you looking for. A country feel would be powder springs northern kennesaw where it meets with acworth or even the paulding county area but traffic will be the biggest issue..maybe move this too atlanta forum not Georgia anything metro atl would be for atlanta forum...i avoid cobb other than vinings area never liked cobb even when i stayed in cobb as a kid for few year..i have my reasons
