Default Northern Georgia recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a beautiful town close to the mountains in Northern Georgia. We're a somewhat conservative, Christian family with young children. I homeschool. My husband is a controller so it couldn't likely be a tiny, tiny town or it wouldn't be likely he could find a comparable job to what he has now. We just want mountains, not liberal, somewhat close to Smokie Mountains (pigeon Forge area), not a crowded city but a good country town feel. Thanks in advance!

Default Have you checked the NW GA area?

It would be close to Chattanooga for hubby's work. It's a beaufitul area, people are extremely friendly, small town all the way up from about Rome area. Walker County, Dade County and Catoosa County are the ones I am somewhat familiar with. We will be moving down there in June.

Want to be close to Smokies and not so small a town?.. Hmm well Knoxville comes to mind. There's Waynesville, NC... Franklin, NC... those towns should be big enough.. but yet have that small town feel.
Clayton is probably your best option in GA... not too far from the Smokies.. about 45 mins to an hour I think.
