Default Real Estate Sales

I am looking for info on becoming a Real Estate Agent in North ga. and N.C. upon my retirement which is within the next two years. Does anyone have a suggestion and what it would take to get the exams? I currently live in North Ga. and am interested in selling mostly mountain and lake properties. Any help would be appreciated. Email me at jimcharlo@earthlink.net....Jim

I'm not sure about having licenses in both states. I am currently licensed in Ga and would also like to buy a little real estat in NC (as a second home for now). To get your ga license, you must go through a 75 hour course then take a pretty lengthy series of exams. (School then state test). I went to Ga MLS to take mine and was very happy with the course and especially satisfied with the CRAM course, which is a course that prepares you for the testing.

If you want to market vacation homes in the Georgia mountains, you really should consider getting licensed in NC as well. Your competition will be licensed in both of these states.

If you live in Ga. and work for a broker in GA, you can get a license in NC if your broker has a license in NC. In GA you can only work under one broker. I do not know what the reciprical agreements are between NC and GA.
